Summer rules! Sorry I was away. Lots of blog posts incoming
Hey, I’ll say it: Summer is the best season. I love it, and I look forward to it every year. This year, summer finally felt a little more normal, and I’ve been up to some things, and I failed to keep it going over here. Since I haven’t updated this blog since May, I figured now is a great time to explain why I went radio silent, and also to warn you that there will be a lot of blogs in the near future!
The bad news:
A not-so-cool thing happened to me in the beginning of summer... I broke my toe. Yes, that’s right. I broke a toe looking at a giant mushroom at Taylors Falls, MN! Obviously, my silliest moment.
Here are some photos of the incredible spring mushroom that took me out (I slipped in the parking lot right after admiring it). The toe break had me rooted for about one month. Thankfully no boot was necessary, but walking on flat ground was challenging, so there was no way I could hike on it, so this has been a mushroom sparse summer compared to the previous three years, so I’ve been playing catch-up ever since!
The good news? I’ve just been busy!
I went on two trips this summer (a wisconsin roadtrip, and chicago), and we just returned from camping on the north shore. I’ve attended concerts, dance nights, and movies requiring pink outfits. I’ve been hiking, gardening, and, most of all–procrastinating my writing.
Lastly, with this small update, here are photos of my raised bed garden that I built with Eric, and some of the mushrooms I saw after I recovered from a broken toe. Expect more in the coming weeks! August will be a busy one, and I have some spooky szn stuff for the future as well!
Also, I’ve creatved an Instagram account just for mushroom photo sharing, and I will include that at the bottom with my other links, okay?
Thanks again for reading, and stay tuned.
Kind regards,
Cody
